[Video] Fireboy DML – “Airplane Mode” 14

YBNL and EMPIRE Releases a new music video performed by the label Young champion, Fireboy DML for the track – ‘Airplane Mode’.

Fireboy returns with ‘Airplane Mode‘ visuals after the success of Lifestyle and Champion (featuring D Smoke) videos. Airplane Mode is taken from his sophomore album, APOLLO the follow up project to his debut – LGT.

On his debut album LGT, “Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps”, he was a loverboy, a hopeless romantic guy but on “Apollo”, he shows a much more confident side that really never gets to see the light. The album displays his outlook on life, his journey as an artiste, and the drama in the Nigerian music space.

Fireboy gets really personal and shows a vulnerable side on Airplane Mode. He sings about the stress from friends and family and how he has to live like an animal.

“So many things wey dey bother man stress from friends and family and Brotherman…

Man living like an animal, When a problem goes, Life comes with another one, But I’m a god, I’m a stronger man, I be different breed, my kind no be normal one…”

Fireboy understands his rise to being one of the finest acts would create conversation that he is trying to be number one. His aim isn’t just to be the greatest ever, he only wants to be one of the greatest to ever do it.

“I’m not trynna be the number one, So many legends dey, I’m just trynna be another one”

Due to the weight placed on his shoulders, Fireboy says he feels like he’s about to lose his mind. It’s a way of telling you that even if he has attained a god status, he is very much human like the rest of us.

“But Sometimes E dey be like say I wan manya oh, All the pressure and the wahala oh, E dey be like say I don tire, Sometimes, E dey be like say I wan manya oh, All the pressure and the wahala o”

Having to explain to people you want to be alone and do things on your own can be quite annoying. Fireboy says he just wants to be and doesn’t want to see any message from anybody (Go flight mode).

“I just wanna be alone, I don’t wanna see no message on my phone… Nothing dey do me, you should know I just feel like i should do this on my own, I just wanna be alone…”

In the second verse, he cries out about his woes ranging from money problems to woman drama and also the competition. He drops an important message – ‘Grace Is Important But The Talent Is A Plus’. He lets listeners into a reality that they can relate to – ‘The Reality Of Wanting To Give Up And Let Go’.

“If no be love, na money palava, If no be stress, na woman and drama, Competition people dey para, Too much beef when I no be mallam, Na God dey do am, no be my power, Grace na koko, the talent na jara, So i lock myself inside my yara go down on my knees, and i call on baba”

Fireboy Introduced Airplane Mode video with a message that reads;

I have always wanted to do this, Be this. The gist is many people have talent but you see Grace, GRACE is the backing that makes the damn Talent shine. No one ever think of the problems that comes after Fame and Success. Omo mehn I don Taya!

Mr Eazi x Dre Skull – “Sekkle & Bop” ft. Popcaan (Dance Video) 15

Mr Eazi and Dre Skull team up for new single titled, “Sekkle & Bop” featuring Popcaan.

With the recent release of E Be Mad Video, Mr Eazi returns with “Sekkle & Bop“, a conjunction of him, Jamaica’s favourite Dancehall act, Popcaan and American record producer, Dre Skull.

On “Sekkle & Bop,” Dre Skull cooks up the kind of bashment riddim that has always resonated on dancefloors around the world. Minimal, with soundsystem ready low end and anchored by an earworming flute melody, it serves as the foundation for Mr Eazi and Popcaan to take control. Both vocalists ride the riddim with signature charisma and ease–effortlessly trading flows that conjure up timeless dancehall classics, commanding dancers and continuously building the energy.

Mr Eazi is one of Nigeria’s biggest global superstars and the founder of emPawa Africa and Jamaica’s Popcaan is a global dancehall superstar who released his first two albums on Mixpak and is now continuing his domination with OVO Sound. Together, they advance a long simmering cross-continental dialogue between afro-pop and dancehall that continues to produce gems. It’s a sensibility that is united by Mixpak label boss Dre Skull–known for his songwriting and production work with Popcaan, Vybz Kartel, Drake, Wizkid, Jorja Smith, Davido and more.

LYRICS

Oh uh o
I could undo your damage
I could heal where its hurting
I wouldn’t take you for granted
Baby I’m being honest

But first
Show me something real
Something genuine
Need you to come undivided
Don’t hide behind fake promises and mere words
No it don’t cover your shame

Need you to do as you say
Cause it’s hard to believe we are high on clouds
When it feels like we are falling
You say we’re covered in love, the both of us, but I still feel naked
We’re the movies but with empty scenes
A forest without trees
I hope you swallow your pride
Make up your mind and stop being reckless
I wouldn’t leave you behind but baby
I’m done being so helpless
I’m Used to being so vulnerable
I Let you in on myself
While you did the unreasonable
Then act like it was someone else

Oh I couldn’t hide the pain, couldn’t let it slide away
No! You won’t get past my aggression
Feels like we broken together, we’re down
And we wouldn’t win anyway
So don’t pretend to my face

Cause it’s hard to believe we are high on clouds
When it feels like we are falling
You say we’re covered in love, the both of us, but I still feel naked
We’re the movies but with empty scenes
A forest without trees
I hope you swallow your pride
Make up your mind and stop being reckless
I wouldn’t leave you behind but baby
I’m done being so helpless
Ummmm
You say you love me
But you ain’t no good at all
Ummmm hmm My heart is heavy but I won’t let it up to you
Cause it’s hard to…believe
